Reflection of term1 & Inspiration of Work-Rest-Play Future Space

The previous projects are in the stage of exploring, the concept of Project1 is to put geometric shapes in the space – circular shape.

Main core of design

In Chinese culture, the circle stands for “fulfilled”, “commitment”, “perfection”, “reunion” which is a symbol of all the good things.

It was not until project5 that the background information was solidified at all levels. Since my owner is a director, he specializes in storytelling and suffers from obsessive-compulsive disorder, reminding me of Wes Anderson who is the American director of Great Budapest and The Royal Tenenbaums. The rapid panning/zooming/overhead camera language/the highly saturated color palette and the symmetrical composition and geometry, all these elements make a beautiful picture-like scene.

The location of Project5 was chosen as an abandoned tunnel. It came from one night when I mistakenly entered a place full of graffiti and street atmosphere when I got lost on my bicycle in Waterloo where many secrets were waiting to be discovered. I attempt to bring the above elements into the abandoned tunnel and develop it, hoping to give my client an unique space of his own.
